La Dé-Coupe wins SADC – Sustainable development prize!

The Baie-des-Chaleurs SADC presented the SADC – Sustainable Development Prize to local business Dé-Coupe, at the Recognition Gala of the Baie-des-Chaleurs Chamber of Commerce.

Located in Nouvelle and founded by Brenda McBrearty, Dé-Coupe ( www.ladecoupe.ca ) specializes in clothing and accessories designed with recycled materials.

The new Baie-des-Chaleurs SADC Sustainable Development Prize is awarded in recognition of a business that is not only oriented towards short-term financial profitability, but that also takes environmental and social impacts into consideration in their daily operations and management, investing for the long term. The award was presented by Daniel Gasse, president of the Baie-des-Chaleurs SADC.

Building on the principles of sustainable development, the SADC provides entrepreneurs with personalized financial products and counselling.
